<h2><b>Employment Type:</b></h2>Full time<h2><b>Shift:</b></h2>12 Hour Day Shift<p style="text-align:inherit"></p><h1><b>Description:</b></h1><p><b>Job Title:</b> Clinical Nurse - IMC</p><p><b>Employment Type:    </b><span>Full time / Rotating Shift </span>(7am – 7pm or 7 pm – 7 am).</p><p><b>Location: </b>Silver Spring, MD</p><p></p><p><b>Position Highlights:</b></p><ul><li><b>Competitive pay </b></li><li><b>Benefits – </b>Medical, Dental & Vision, PTO, Free Parking, Metro Access, Tuition Reimbursement, 403(b)</li><li><b>Quality of Life: </b>Flexible work schedules</li><li><b>Advancement: </b> Opportunities to advance through the Clinical Advancement Program</li></ul><p></p><p></p><p><b>Unit Description:</b></p><p>Reporting to the Director of 3 South/Intermediate Care Unit, this 30-bed unit provides care for high-acuity patients across a wide spectrum of complex specialties.  Comorbidities are diverse and patients often require cardiac telemetry monitoring and/or mechanical ventilator support. </p><ul><li>Unit equipped with two negative pressure rooms and patient lift assist equipment in all rooms.</li><li>On-site Nurse educator.</li><li>Acute/Critical Care course for nurses who are new to the acute, in-patient population.<br /> </li></ul><p><b>Responsibilities:</b></p><ul><li>Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support patient-centered continuum of care.</li><li>Ability to communicate variances from patient goals and advocate on behalf of patient.</li><li>Maintain accurate and timely healthcare records.</li><li>Administer medications to patients, provide education and monitor for efficacy and side effects.</li><li>Assess, monitor, report and record patient condition and pertinent changes.</li><li>Design, implement and evaluate patient nursing care plans with healthcare team.</li><li>Educates patients and family throughout stay and in preparation for discharge.<br /> </li></ul><p><b>Minimum licensure/certification Required:</b></p><ul><li>Graduation from an accredited nursing program; basic professional nursing degree (BSN or MSN) preferred.  Note, if the BSN is not present on hire, the employee must engage in a basic professional nursing degree program within twelve (12) months of hire</li><li>Current licensure by the Maryland State Board of Nursing or Compact State as a Registered Nurse.</li><li>BLS certification through the American Heart Association</li><li>Current knowledge of nursing skills and practice.</li><li>Computer and audiovisual skills using various applications: internet, email, word processing</li><li>Effectively read, speak, write, compose and comprehend English</li><li>Effective eye and hand coordination</li><li>Ability to analyze and synthesize information in a rapidly changing environment.</li><li>Effective problem-solving skills, including organization and prioritization.</li><li>Ability to multi-task, organize and prioritize</li><li>Ability to work well with individuals and groups.<br /> </li></ul><p><b>Pay Range-   $38.92-$55.68</b></p><p>Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates.
