Job summary

The Warehouse/Logistics Supervisor will direct all warehouse and logistics activities, including transportation, inventory control, shipping, receiving, and staff management. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver with strong organizational and communication skills who can ensure operational efficiency, manage costs, and maintain high standards of quality and safety.

Responsibilities:

Warehouse Operations

  • Supervise the daily workflow, including the receiving, stocking, storage, picking, packing, and dispatching of goods.
  • Optimize warehouse layout and workflow to improve efficiency and space utilization.
  • Manage the maintenance of warehouse machinery and equipment, such as forklifts and stretch wrap machines.
  • Support management to implement security protocols to ensure the safety and security of the warehouse and its inventory

Logistics and Supply Chain

  • Oversee and coordinate inbound deliveries and organize outbound shipments
  • To ensure stock rotation and meet order requirements, ship all finished goods according to the First-In, First-Out (FIFO) principle. All shipments must contain the full ordered quantity
  • Verify all inbound deliveries against the packing list for accuracy in items and quantities. Additionally, inspect all goods for damage that may have occurred during transit
  • Immediately notify management of any discrepancy, such as damages, incorrect quantity, or wrong product. Then, collaborate with Quality Assurance (QA) and Procurement to ensure proper documentation
  • Assist management to resolve any issues or complaints related to shipments, deliveries, or the supply chain.

Inventory Management

  • Oversee inventory control processes to ensure the accuracy and reliability of stock records.
  • Ensure all inbound deliveries are put in the warehouse
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits, reconciling data with the inventory management system.
  • Help management implement new strategies to optimize inventory levels and prevent stockouts or overstocking.

Team Leadership and Management

  • Train, mentor, and supervise warehouse and logistics staff to meet operational goals.
  • Create work schedules and delegate tasks to the warehouse workforce.
  • Collaborate with management to motivate the team, provide clear feedback to direct reports, and foster a productive, accountable work environment.

Safety and compliance

  • Establish and enforce safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Ensure all warehouse operations comply with federal, state, and local laws, as well as company policies.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to warehouse activities and safety.

Qualifications

  • Proven work experience as a warehouse or logistics supervisor.
  • Supply chain management, or a related field, is often preferred.
  • Experience in leading and managing staff, ideally in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS) and other logistics software is preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and leadership abilities.

Relevant certifications, such as a forklift operator's license or logistics certifications (e.g., APICS), are often a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 48 per week
