Junior Cyber Security Analyst

As a Junior Cyber Security Analyst you will monitor network traffic, analyze security alerts, and assist in resolving security incidents. You will help implement security controls, conduct audits, and support security awareness initiatives to safeguard our systems from cyber threats. Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and analyze network traffic, system logs, and alerts from security tools (such as firewalls, IDS/IPS) to detect signs of suspicious or malicious activity.

  • Assist in the investigation and resolution of security incidents, including malware infections, phishing attacks, and unauthorized access.
  • Conduct system vulnerability and compliance assessments and remediation across OS, Cloud, and Infrastructure as Code environments, with a strong emphasis on these areas over network scanning.
  • Implement and monitor basic security controls such as access control lists (ACLs), antivirus solutions, and encryption technologies.
  • Conduct regular audits and reviews of user access, ensuring compliance with security policies and best practices.
  • Support the creation and delivery of security awareness training programs, helping employees recognize and respond to cyber threats.
  • Prepare reports on security incidents and trends, providing analysis and recommendations for mitigating future risks.
  • Collaborate with senior analysts to refine security monitoring tools and enhance incident detection and response strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Cyber Security, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • Familiarity with security tools and frameworks (e.g., SIEM, firewalls, vulnerability scanners).
  • Basic understanding of network security principles, such as firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to work in a team environment.
