DEPARTMENT: Accounting/Administration, Headquarters location.

REPORTS TO: Vice President of Accounting and Administration

Ironhorse Resources (IHR) is family owned and financially strong. IHR is a quickly growing company based in O’Fallon, Illinois and primarily owns/operates shortline railroads in TX, AZ, NM and TN. IHR also owns three transloading facilities in TX and NM. IHR operates a Trucking company out of Houston, TX and Edinburg, TX. IHR and its subsidiaries have approximately 130 employees, with 11 employees currently in the O’Fallon office. IHR is looking for a career-minded financial professional to assist in its growth now, and well into the future.

Summary of Responsibilities

The accountant assists the VP of Accounting and Admin in all aspects of administration including, but not limited to the compilation and preparation of various financial reports and maintains the necessary ledgers, journals, registers, and detail to support them.

Essential Functions may include

-Assists in all aspects of the administration of the business

-Assists in the preparation of monthly financial statements.

-Maintains General Ledgers, journals, registers, and the detail schedules.

-Prepares and maintains cashbook balances and reconciliations to monthly bank statements.

-Prepares invoices, billing statements and reconciles to accounts receivable reports.

Other Functions

-Other duties as assigned from time to time by the VP and EVP

Working Conditions

-Corporate office has a hybrid schedule to help promote a good work/life balance. We have required office hours Monday through Thursday 9am to 3pm and Fridays you have the ability work from home. It is expected that you are available normal business hours Monday through Friday 8-5 for any issues or questions that may arise.

Skills Required

-Ability to communicate with all levels of management.

-Computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Word & Outlook.

-Ability to learn RMI database for interchanging rail cars.

-Ability to learn accounting software. (Sage Intacct and Axon)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $53,000.00 - $58,000.00 per year
