<strong>About The Role:<br><br></strong><strong>Despatch Operative - Hereford<br><br></strong><strong>Location:</strong> Grandstand Road, Hereford<br><br><strong>Hours:</strong> 07:00-19:00 / 19:00-07:00, Continental Shift Pattern<br><br><strong>Pay:</strong> Minimum £12.65 per hour + additional shift premium £1.23<br><br><strong>About The Role<br><br></strong>It is vital the food industry continues operating throughout these uncertain times, and as one of the UK’s largest food businesses, Avara Foods plays a key role in helping feed the nation.<br><br>We’re seeking <strong>motivated and enthusiastic Despatch Operatives</strong> to join our Hereford team. You’ll help facilitate the efficient loading of products for delivery to our customers, ensuring the correct products are picked, loaded, and documented to customer specifications.<br><br>While undergoing on-the-job training, you’ll also develop skills in <strong>food safety</strong> and <strong>health & safety</strong>, contributing to a high-performing team that helps bring Avara Foods to life.<br><br>Key Responsibilities<br><br><ul><li>Pick products to order for outbound loads using a handheld scan gun </li><li>Load products accurately, check temperatures, and ensure all paperwork is completed </li><li>Carry out pre-operational checks on electric pedestrian trucks to ensure safety and maintenance standards </li><li>Collate all relevant paperwork to ensure accurate stock and outbound load records <br><br></li></ul>What We’re Looking For<br><br><ul><li>Good numeracy and communication skills - essential </li><li>Effective organisation and time management - essential </li><li>NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Food Manufacturing - desirable </li><li>Previous experience in a food manufacturing or logistics environment - desirable </li><li>Basic Food Hygiene, Manual Handling, and Electric Truck Licence - desirable <br><br></li></ul><strong> About Us<br><br></strong>Avara Foods is one of the UK’s largest food businesses, supplying chicken and turkey to popular supermarkets and restaurants.
