Compensation

The base hourly rate for this position is $28.19.

This position is responsible for communicating and supporting JM core values and delivering the JM experience. Drives and operates a combination of trucks and vehicles that have a gross vehicle weight of more than 26,001 pounds and that require a Class A license and HAZMAT certification.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver full truckloads of Johns Manville products to jobsites and warehouses.
  • Safely driving a commercial vehicle and requires compliance with safety & DOT Regulations.
  • Full time position - solo operator
  • Loads dispatch out of Hazleton, PA daily
  • 5-day operation with some weekend exceptions; some overnight travel
  • Equipment: primarily flatbeds with some dry vans
  • Interstate deliveries (PA), and Intrastate locations PA/MD/NY/NJ/CT/VA/MA
  • Drivers must keep a detailed driver log, consisting of mileage, travel time, sleep to document that they have complied with the regulations set in place by the Department of Transportation.
  • Diver must have the physical capabilities required to drive a truck for long periods of time and be strong enough to tie down their loads properly to safely transport load.
  • Must have excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Perform vehicle inspection reports
  • Must use personal protective equipment as required

Leadership Responsibilities:

  • There are no supervisory responsibilities for direct reports for this position.

Requirements: (education, skills, and abilities)

  • 5 years of verifiable driving experience
  • Current Medical Certification
  • Valid Class A CDL with HazMat Endorsement
  • Ability to meet Johns Manville's driving qualifications
  • Ability to pass a drug screen test
  • Must be able to tarp, strap, & chain loads to maintain cargo security and safety
  • No DUI/DWI convictions

Physical Requirements:

The physical requirements of this position are: (these requirements are typical for most of our manufacturing roles)

  • The ability to stand for extended periods
  • The ability to manually lift, push or pull at least 50 pounds safely and with proper body mechanics, sometimes while in awkward positions.
  • Use of hands (repetitive motion, grabbing, feeling, sensing, pulling)
  • The ability to work safely in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful work environment
  • The ability to safely and effectively work in an often-dusty work environment that experiences a broad range of temperatures (very hot to very cold).
  • The ability to withstand the rigors of working a 12(or 8)-hour rotating shift schedule.
  • The ability to bend, stoop or kneel repetitively.
  • The ability to reach or work above the shoulder
